ATTENTION ALL HANDS:
Since Fleet 31 was first conceived five and a half years ago, I have had the pleasure of maintaining that command. Like so many other great things, the idea started in a garage, but I could not be more proud of what this fleet has accomplished, both in growth and in charity. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Due to various changes in my life, I have found that it has been some time since I have been able to give this fleet the time it deserves from its CO. Therefore, effective immediately, I resign my position as Fleet Commander.
As my last act in command of this amazing organization, I would like to name my successor. I hereby promote Capt. Ed O’Connell, Commanding Officer of the USS Growler in New York City, to the rank of Rear Admiral (Upper Half) to fill the position of Fleet Commander. Congratulations, Admiral O’Connell.
For those of you who are wondering, I will not be leaving Fleet 31. As much time and love as I have put into this organization, I don’t think I could. I will remain a member of the fleet, and for now at least, I will retain a non-voting seat on the Command Council as an advisor. So as I’m reassigned to Starfleet Command back on Earth to spend my days behind a desk, I hope nothing but the best for this fleet and all its crew. May we all live long and prosper, together.
