This will serve as an informational page for the formal uniforms used starting in Star Trek: Insurrection. More information will be added as it becomes available.
The charts below depict the rank pins worn on the collar of the uniform to denote rank and note placement of the appropriate designations. The ranks are shown with each division where such rank could be appropriate.
Admirals wear their rank on both sides of the collar (symmetrically) as well as on the wrist stripes as explained on the variants
O-11: Fleet Admiral (FADM)
O-10: Admiral (ADM)
O-9: Vice Admiral (VADM)
O-8: Rear Admiral Upper Half (RADM)
O-7: Rear Admiral Lower Half (RDML)
For all Line Officers, pips are to be worn on the right side of the collar, vertically centered between the parallel top and bottom edges, with the first pip placed roughly 1/2″ to 3/4″ away from the center edge of the collar, with 1/8″ between pips moving toward the side of the neck from the front. If the rank called for requires a black/hollow pip, that pip is to be placed last in the chain.
O-6: Captain (CAPT)
O-5: Commander (CMDR)
O-4: Lieutenant Commander (LCDR)
O-3: Lieutenant (LT)
O-2: Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG)
O-1: Ensign (ENS)
The inner edge of enlisted rank designations should be 1/2″ to 3/4″ away from the center edge of the collar on the right side of the body, centered between the upper and lower edges of the collar. These rank designations are derived from what little is seen on screen during of this time period.
